World Cup 2026 Semi-Finals: France vs Spain, England vs Argentina and Where the Value Sits

Four teams are left, and Ghana gets both semi-finals at 7 PM sharp. France meet Spain tonight at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, then England face Argentina in Atlanta on Wednesday, with the winners meeting in New Jersey on Sunday 19 July. No 1 AM Kansas City kickoffs this week: both games land squarely in Ghanaian prime time.

The quarter-finals delivered the four heavyweights the bracket promised. France beat Morocco 2-0 to end Africa's tournament, Spain edged Belgium 2-1, England needed extra time to get past Norway 2-1, and Argentina pulled away from Switzerland 3-1, also in extra time.

At BetRankGH, we don't tip. We find where the odds don't match the actual probability, and semi-final week is when emotional money makes those gaps widest.

1. France vs Spain: FIFA World Cup 2026 Semi-Final

When: Tue 14 July 2026 | 19:00 GMT | Where: AT&T Stadium, Arlington (Dallas)

France are the only team at this World Cup to win all six of their matches inside 90 minutes, and the numbers behind that run are heavy: Kylian Mbappé has 8 goals and 3 assists, Ousmane Dembélé has 5 goals, and Michael Olise leads the tournament creativity charts with 5 assists. Spain are unbeaten too, but the texture changed in the quarter-final: Belgium's goal in the 2-1 was the first Spain had conceded all tournament, ending Unai Simón's record clean-sheet streak. Mikel Oyarzabal has 4 goals, Mikel Merino keeps scoring decisive late goals, and Rodri still dictates every game Spain play.

Recent history splits the argument neatly. Spain beat France 2-1 in the Euro 2024 semi-final, and France beat Spain 2-1 in the 2021 Nations League final. This is as close to a coin-flip pedigree as a semi-final gets, which makes the pricing below interesting.

Bookmaker France (1) Draw (X) Spain (2)
1xBet 2.353.203.20
Betway 2.303.253.15
SportyBet 2.383.153.20
*Odds are estimates based on global market prices as of 14 July 2026 and are approximate: confirm current prices before staking.

Data-Driven Betting Angles

  • France Draw No Bet: Stripping the margin out of the 1X2 prices puts this at roughly 42% France, 29% draw, 29% Spain. Six wins from six in 90 minutes says France close games out, and DNB around 1.65–1.70 backs that habit while refunding the stalemate.
  • Under 2.5 Goals: A draw priced as short as 3.15–3.25 is the market telling you it expects a tight, cagey game. Spain's matches have been low-scoring all tournament, and the under around 1.75–1.85 is the cleaner expression of that same read.
  • Mbappé Anytime Scorer: Eight goals in six games, on penalty duty, against the first defence Spain have fielded since their shutout streak died. Around 2.10–2.20 this prices him like a secondary threat, and he is not one.

Trap Bet: Spain clean-sheet and win-to-nil markets are built on a group-stage story. That shutout streak ended against Belgium, and no attack left in this tournament creates more high-quality chances than Mbappé, Dembélé and Olise. Don't pay July prices for June's defence.

2. England vs Argentina: FIFA World Cup 2026 Semi-Final

When: Wed 15 July 2026 | 19:00 GMT | Where: Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta

This is the fixture that needs no marketing: the Hand of God in 1986, Beckham's red card in 1998, Beckham's penalty in 2002. It's their first World Cup meeting in 24 years, and it comes with a place in the final attached. Lionel Messi, at what is almost certainly his last World Cup, leads the Golden Boot race with 8 goals and has 21 career World Cup goals.

The form lines pull in opposite directions. Jude Bellingham has 6 goals, including the extra-time winner against Norway, and Harry Kane and Morgan Rogers give England multiple ways to score. But Argentina are the defending champions, Enzo Fernández and Julián Álvarez are peaking, and their front line just put three past a Switzerland side that had conceded almost nothing all tournament.

One ledger quietly favours England: legs. Argentina have now been dragged into extra time twice in three knockout games, needing a 111th-minute winner against Cape Verde and 120 minutes against Switzerland, while England have done it once.

Bookmaker England (1) Draw (X) Argentina (2)
1xBet 2.622.903.05
Betway 2.662.883.10
SportyBet 2.602.853.10
*Odds are estimates based on global market prices as of 14 July 2026 and are approximate: confirm current prices before staking.

Data-Driven Betting Angles

  • Under 2.5 Goals: A draw at 2.85–2.90 is one of the shortest draw prices of the whole tournament, which means the market expects this tight and nervy. The under around 1.70–1.80 captures that expectation without needing the exact stalemate.
  • England to Qualify: Around 1.72–1.76, this covers England in 90 minutes, extra time or penalties. With Argentina carrying two extra-time matches in their legs and England's bench the deeper of the two, the qualification market fits the fatigue read better than the 90-minute moneyline.
  • Messi Anytime Scorer: Eight goals in six games and every Argentina set piece runs through him. At around 2.30–2.40 the scorer market pays a fairer price for the Messi story than the outright ever will.

Trap Bet: The draw. US books report roughly 37% of all bets and money on this match sitting on the stalemate, and that flood of public money is exactly what squeezes a 3.00 price down towards 2.85. Backing the draw because everyone else is means taking the worst price the market has offered on it all week.

The Golden Boot Sub-Plot

Messi and Mbappé sit level on 8 goals, with Erling Haaland eliminated on 7 and Bellingham on 6. Both leaders play this week in the same 19:00 GMT slot, so the race will likely be decided live on Ghanaian screens. If you're in the top-scorer market, remember it usually settles on goals only, and assist-heavy games move nothing.

Semi-Final Combo: Value Acca

Two angles that hold up independently and combine cleanly:

  • France Draw No Bet vs Spain (~1.68)
  • Under 2.5 Goals in England vs Argentina (~1.75)

Combined odds: ~2.94

Best platform for this: Betway. Its Draw No Bet and handicap pricing has been consistently sharp through the knockout rounds, and both legs sit in its main match markets rather than buried in props.

The Ghana Angle: Prime Time, Tax-Free

Both semi-finals kick off at exactly 7 PM Ghana time, and Sunday's final lands in an evening slot too. Top up your MoMo and sort your data bundle before kickoff rather than during it: deposit queues at 6:55 PM are where good pre-match prices go to die.

And a reminder worth its weight this week: since Ghana scrapped the 10% withholding tax on winnings, what you win is what you withdraw. If you're still deciding who to shout for, our guide to who Ghanaians can get behind covers all four semi-finalists.

Recommended Platforms

  • Betway: sharp Draw No Bet and handicap pricing, the best fit for the France angle.
  • 1xBet: the deepest scorer and prop markets for the Mbappé and Messi lines.
  • SportyBet: the simplest app for live betting both games with instant MoMo top-ups.
  • BetWinner: acca boost promos if you want to extend the value combo above.

Note: Semi-final week is when casual money floods the markets and prices get emotional. Stick to bookmakers we check against the Gaming Commission of Ghana register, bet the price and not the occasion, and if betting ever stops feeling like a choice, our guide to free, confidential help in Ghana is there for you.
